On the morning of May 12, 2025, an expert panel from the National Higher Education Urban and Rural Planning Program Evaluation Committee arrived at Chang’an University for an on-site assessment. The panel consists of Professor Geng Hong from Huazhong University of Science and Technology as the group leader, along with Yuan Xin, Senior Engineer of the Urban Planning Society of China, and Zhang Lipeng, Professor-Level Senior Engineer of Liaoning Urban-Rural Planning and Design Institute Co., Ltd. The meeting was held in the First Report Hall on the second floor of the Student Service Center at the North Campus of Chang’an University.
Vice President Pei Jianzhong attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Also present were heads of relevant functional departments of the university, leaders of the School of Architecture, as well as faculty and student representatives. The meeting was chaired by Zhao Xianwei, Director of the Education Research and Evaluation Center.

In his address, Vice President Pei Jianzhong extended a warm welcome and sincere gratitude to the expert panel for their guidance. He introduced the university’s fundamental overview from four aspects: history of education, current development status, distinctive characteristics, and strategic measures.
Professor Geng Hong, on behalf of the evaluation panel, introduced the general context of urban and rural planning program accreditation in Chinese higher education institutions and outlined the schedule for the on-site evaluation.
Professor Hou Quanhua, Dean of the School of Architecture, presented a comprehensive report on the development of the urban and rural planning program and the undergraduate education initiatives.

Following the meeting, the expert panel will conduct a three-day on-site inspection, which includes visits to teaching and research facilities, a review of student works and teaching materials, observation of classroom activities, as well as separate seminars with faculty, undergraduate students, and alumni.
