Recently, Chang’an University received the "Notification of the Evaluation Conclusion for the Undergraduate Program in Urban and Rural Planning" along with the "On-Site Evaluation Report for the Urban and Rural Planning Program at Chang’an University" from the Higher Education Urban and Rural Planning Program Evaluation Committee of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development. The university’s urban and rural planning program has passed the national undergraduate (five-year) education assessment with the highest rating—a six-year validity period.
The evaluation report detailed the rigorous examination conducted by the assessment panel in accordance with established standards. The panel thoroughly inspected the program’s teaching facilities, library resources, laboratory conditions, teaching documents, student work, and educational outcomes. They observed classroom teaching, attended faculty lectures, and held discussions with students, faculty, administrative staff, and employer representatives. Based on comprehensive on-site evidence, the inspection team highly commended the program in areas such as teaching conditions, educational management, guiding principles and objectives, as well as student quality and engagement.
The evaluation conclusion clearly stated that, following discussions and a vote by the full committee of the Higher Education Urban and Rural Planning Program Evaluation Committee of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, the on-site assessment report was approved. It was decided that the undergraduate (five-year) program in urban and rural planning at Chang’an University has met the accreditation standards with a validity period of six years, from May 2025 to May 2031. The report also set higher expectations for the future development of the program.
